How to get reconnected

Our Roku streaming stick has usually worked fine. It has occasionally stopped and we do what is suggested on the screen (unplug, power, etc) and then it works again. Same thing happened today, we did what has worked in the past, and we now have nothing. All we get is "device control inactive." No internet issues.  What can we do to get it functional/activated again? PS We are not techie people.  Thanks for any help you can give.

"device control inactive" sounds like something that might be coming from the TV.  How are you powering the stick?  If it's getting power from the USB port of the TV try using the power adapter that came with it.  If you're already doing that, then sorry I don't have any other ideas.
