Distorted Sound

Just purchased TCL 43" Class 4-Series 4K UHD HDR Roku Smart TV - 43S435 and it has just recently as of today started making a distorted noise while watching Netflix. I have no idea how to fix it

Re: Distorted Sound

Is it only on Netflix? Or do other apps do the same thing?

I just checked and it is doing it with all of the apps and the live tv

Re: Distorted Sound

That indicates it's an issue with the TV itself.

There may be a quick fix, however. Restart the device. Don't just turn it off and on. That really isn't turning it off and on. Unplugging will, but not the Power button on the TV.

Instead, try Settings > System > Power > System Restart > Restart

Does that fix it?

If not, does turning it off (Power button) then unplugging it for a few minutes help?

Re: Distorted Sound

While it could be software, it does seem to me that we're looking at a hardware issue. Speakers themselves, or the amp. Neither is good, and that would best be handled by a warranty replacement, if eligible.

You could try forcing the software download again, just in case some corruption is the source; I doubt it, but you can check again to be sure. If you want to go that route, try this:

HOME x5
FF x3
RW x2

Scroll down and select Update software. That will force a re-download of the current software.

Note: Don't mess around with the other stuff. There's a problem with your Roku TV right now. Don't make it worse.

If that doesn't resolve anything, a factory reset might, but I'm kinda doubtful. Again, it may be worth trying just in case, rather than the hassle of getting warranty replace/repair done.

Re: Distorted Sound

It does seem after factory resetting it and forcing the update that it has gone away slightly
