Choppy sound

I’m experiencing a choppy sound on any channel I watch on roku. The best way to describe the sound is: if a car drives by on a show I’m watching, instead of hearing a smooth “shhhhhhhhhhhhhh” sound, I hear “shh tsh tshhh tsh tsh tsh tshhh tshh.” I have a Roku 2 XD. I’ve tried different HDMI cables and ports, and I hear it from both the TV speakers and wireless headphones, so it’s not the TV speakers. I’ve tried unplugging the roku for both 30 seconds and up to 15 minutes and neither works.

Re: Choppy sound

Could be your Roku is dying.. the XD is a 7 year old model. Even if you just upgrade to a Roku Express, your performance will be so much better. I do recommend the Roku Stick over the Express though.
Yeah, I got some Rokus.

Re: Choppy sound

Try unplugging the roku and plugging it back in.

I'm had the same problem on a brand new Roku Ultra. Started last week after owning it for barely a month. Tried everything I could think of, moving tvs, roku's, nothing worked. I'd put the roku on a different tv and it worked fine, but when I moved it back to the first tv the sound was still so choppy it was unwatchable. Of course, I was able to do this without unplugging the roku.

When i finally unplugged the roku from the electricity and plugged it back in, that's when the choppy sound went away.
