Hi there,
Thanks for the note. We don't currently support any feature to directly limit bitrate on your device. In the past, there were some developer functions related to this for testing purposes, but these did not apply to all channels and have never been supported for end-users.
This type of limitation/modification would need to be done directly within any individual channel's settings, such as Netflix offers, or in your wireless router's configuration. Feel free to visit the 'Suggest a feature' section of the Community and add a kudo to the request for this type of feature to show your support.
Thanks!
Tanner

I am unable to change the bit rate on my Roku TV's. Every time I change it to 3.5, Roku doesn't save it and it changes back to 12. How can I get Roku to save the change?
I'm having the exact same problem. It seemed to happen all of a sudden about a month ago. Completely out of the blue my data skyrocketed. I went from using 8 gig's a day to about 25+ gig's a day. This is destroying my data cap. I tried changing the cap by using the HIDDEN setting which I found on Bing (Home button 5 times, Back button 3 times then Forward button 2 times which brought up the menu). The setting would not save. It keeps reverting back to Automatic. I'll be going back to Amazon Fire TV where I can control my data.
I have suggested it as has others. Please update this feature. I have 4 of your tvs presently as I have been buying them for rentals. I need you to update this before I will buy any more. The data usage is costing me way too much money. I guess the only alternative in this case is to give the tvs bad reviews, which would be a shame since actually, other than the data usage, I like the tvs.
Why is the nitrate menu there and allows manual changes if you can’t save it?
