Audio Problem

My Roku 3 is connected to the internet via an ethernet connection.  It streams fine without buffering.  When I am watching a movie though, after several minutes of streaming, the audio cuts out for just a couple of seconds.  Then after several minutes again the sound cuts out for just a couple of seconds and so on.  Is this a hardware issue?

When I've had this problem in the past, it's almost always been the HDMI cable.  I just unplug it from the TV then plug it back in.  If it keeps happening, I swap out the cable.
