Ads never have closed captioning. .

No programming content has closed captioning data included unless it was programmed in when the files were created.  You'd think it would be in the advertisers' interest to have CC included but it is often omitted.

MOST TV ads are closed captioned.

I beg to differ - I have used CC/closed captioning (non-ROKU) for years and find that MANY ads are NOT close captioned. As time goes on, presumably this will change, but that’s the current situation.

Censoring captions on ads is ROKU policy.
