Able to get surround sound from some, but not all apps on Roku device with the same AVR setup

I have a Bose Lifestyle v24 AVR with my Roku Streaming Stick Plus installed in the DVD HDMI input port.  I have another HDMI cable going to a Vizio TV.  I am able to receive surround sound from the Apple TV and Showtime Anytime apps on Roku device (display shows “Dolby Digital 5.0”).  I am unable, however to receive surround sound from Disney+, Xfinity Stream, Netflix, and Amazon Prime (display shows “PCM 2.0”).  Why would I not get surround sound from all apps using the exact same setup?
