65" ONN Roku TV Compatibility Issues with Sony Multi Zone Region Free Blu Ray Player S1500RF

Jump to solution

I purchased a Sony Multi Zone Region Free Blu Ray Player S1500RF and tried to play DVDs using my newly purchased, 65” ONN Smart TV. When I connected both devices with an HDMI cord and turned the blu ray player on, the sony blu ray screen appeared for two seconds before reverting back to the tv home screen, stating that the signal from the blu ray player couldn’t be found

Solution / Lessons Learned

When I got home, I connected the bluray device with my ONN TV, using the new HDMI cord…and Eureka it worked! My wife was gloating that it was her idea and I gave her acknowledgment and praise.

Looking back at this troubleshoot, it took me approximately 2 cumulative days to fix the issue, although I wasn’t working and thinking about it the entire 2 days. I should have closely examined the symptoms of the issue (interrupted power) instead of become flustered at not being able to figure out the problem. Something I forgot to mention is that I have two power adapter cords for the bluray player…one had a female tuning fork end and the other had a male core end. For the solution, I used the male core end, making sure it was stable for power distribution to the bluray player. During troubleshooting, I used the female tuning fork endà I mention this because the power adapter could have also played a role in solving the troubleshoot.
