no networks found/ no IP address anymore

not only does it say "no networks found", but under the ABOUT section of my Roku account, it says I have no IP address...  I've tried scrolling to find an answer, but my eyesight isn't that good to continue scrolling on my phone. My device was working day before yest, but stopped working yest morn.

Re: no networks found/ no IP address anymore

A net-connected device has no innate IP numbers. Its IP is assigned to the device by your router each time a net connection is established, so the Roku has no IP number when not connected to the net.

If this is the first time you've lost your net connection you are lucky.  I lose mine several times a month.

Here's what has worked for me to re-establish my net connection.

  • Restart your router (even if other devices have no problem finding and connecting). Sometimes that's all it takes, if not keep going.
  • Restart the Roku to clear its memory via Settings > System > System restart (for Roku TV it's Settings > System > Power > System restart). Again sometimes that's all it takes, if not keep going.
  • Find and connect to your network via Settings> Network > Set up connection

If that doesn't fix it, try disconnecting the power to your Roku for a few seconds.  When it comes back up, see if you then can set up the network connection.

Re: no networks found/ no IP address anymore

Additional thought:

You didn't mention your Roku model and model number.  You can determine them via Roku menu path Settings > System > About

Roku Express/Express+ (not the relatively new Express 4K/4K+) and Premiere/Premiere+ are lower end units with single band Wifi radios that only support the 2.4 GHz Wifi band. They, and many other devices of all sorts that are 2.4 GHz only, can't even see the 5 GHz band, !et alone connect to it. If you have one of these Roku models and a dual band router with both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, be sure the router's 2.4 GHz band is turned on.

Within the 2.4 GHz band, for use with ALL Roku models, be sure your router is set to use channels in the 1 through 11 range as are used in North America. Some other parts of the world also support channels 12 & 13, but Rokus can't even see these channels.

If your router is supplied by your internet provider, there have been reports lately of updates to the router shutting off the router's 2,4 GHz band. Users have had to contact their provider to get 2.4 GHz turned back on or in some cases have the router replaced with a new one.
