Rookie question re data usage.

Does ROKU (4630X) use dataa when I turn off my tv with ROKU in the “HOME” position? Thanks!

Only to check for updates, and I believe only once per day.. uses minimal amounts.

It sends back metrics all the time. This is also how it grabs new items to display in the right panel as "attractions". But the usage is minimal and at the same time the lookup for updates happens in the background.

Just for clarification, your TV being on or off doesn't matter.

If a person was really concerned they could unplug the tv at night, or put a rule in their router to deny internet access at night, but that only delays the same data use until powered back up.
