Roku does not connect to network

My Roku Express + won't connect to my wireless network.  I go through the setup menu, connect to my wireless network and it tells me that I am connect and have excellent signal strength.  When I go to "Home" and select a channnel (UTube, Sirius, Roku, etc.) it tells me that there is no network connection.  I have unplugged and plugged in the Roku, reset the Roku, updated the Roku, checked wireless connection (which tells me that I have an excellent connection) and still when I go to "Home" and select a channel it tells me that there is no connection.  Seems like something in the Roku has died.  Not sure whether to just buy a new one or try to resurrect this one.

I've run into this here several times.  This has always worked for me:

  • Restart your router (even if other devices have no problem finding and connecting). Sometimes that's all it takes, if not keep going.
  • Restart the Roku to clear its memory via Settings > System > System restart (for a Roku TV it's Settings > System > Power > System restart). Again sometimes that's all it takes, if not keep going.
  • Find and connect to your network via Settings> Network > Set up connection

If that doesn't fix it, try disconnecting the power to your Roku for a few seconds.  When it comes back up, see if you then can set up the network connection.

Re: Roku does not connect to network

I went through the steps that you suggested but nothing worked.  Then, I pressed the WPS button on the wifi router, went through the progression for setting up the Roku and IT WORKED.  Thanks for your help.
