Roku LT suddenly won't connect to network

Hello everybody.
I have been a happy Roku LT owner for a little over a year now, but yesterday I ran into a problem. It suddenly will not connect to my wireless network. I get the message "Can't connect to your wireless network (error code 014)". There have been absolutely no changes to my setup or hardware, neither router, TV, nor Roku. It just simply stopped working. All my other devices (computer, phone, iPad) connect to the network just fine.

Here's what I have tried so far:
Re-typing the password for my wireless network on the Roku
Manually entering the SSID
Roku factory reset
Turning off wireless security
Changing my router SSID

None of that has worked. I am completely at a loss as to what to do to fix this.
The Roku and router are in the same room, so it's not a range/signal problem.
The Roku is connected via HDMI to a 42" RCA LED42B45RQ
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Goto Platform Secret Screen by:

Play x 1
RW x 1
Play x 1
FF x 1

Choose "Disable network pings"
Choose "Back"
Try your network connection again

Tried it. Did not work. Should I re-enable the pings?

One thing: "Roku Factory Reset"

Did you use the reset via the menu, or the "hard" reset using the button on the back (using a paper clip, or similar item, holding in for a full 30 seconds), or both?

Re: Roku LT suddenly won't connect to wireless

I had previously done the reset through the menu. I tried the physical reset on the back of the device and that worked.
Now I can connect to my network, but the connection is extremely slow. Unusably slow. VEVO clips won't play, things take forever to load, and I used to stream content with the 4 dots and HD indicator, now I only get 1 dot.
When I go to network/settings it says the signal is excellent.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

I did another reset on the back of the device with a paper clip, and now it works just fine. No speed problems.
Thank you for the help!!!!

Re: Roku LT suddenly won't connect to wireless

Thanks so much for posting the paper clip trick!

I tried a reset via the menu on one of my Roku 3 units to no avail - issue persisted (Roku can't connect to wifi).

Tried the paper clip trick and immediately saw 4 wifi networks as opposed to only 1 (my) SSID.
It then connected quickly to my wireless network (that is the good news), but it failed when connecting to 'local network (step 2 of 3, with 3 being connecting to the internet).
I tried the wifi setup (not a soft or hard Roku reset, just entering the wifi password again) one more time and this time it worked fine.

Re: Roku LT suddenly won't connect to wireless

Hello
Thank you for the secret screen and disable pings tips;
My tv is now working again (I hope it stays that way!);
My question now is: should I leave the pings disabled? Or go back and enable them?
I have no clue what pings are so I’m not sure.
Thanks! Smiley Happy

Try re-enabling and see if the issue returns.
