I'm sure you have herd that title enough but anyways. My Roku loads fine all the channels load fine right up until i select something to watch and it basically timesout without saying so. I went into my router to see if there was an issue on my end. I have 2 settings o my router a slow a speed setting and a fast speed setting. It was set up that way when i got it. I tried everything i knew to get the roku to recgnize the high speed network but it refuse too and only sees the low speed. I even put the router and roku side by side and when the roku scans it doesnt even see the high speed connection. Yet everything else from my phone, tablet, computer, and xbox all see the high speed connection for the roku. i dont understand the problem and i tried going to the offcial page it is out of order.
Hopefully someone has encountered this before and can help me out since my roku is my main source (no ridiculously expensive cable here) . If anything was unclear respond and i will clarify better,
When you say "high speed" and "low speed" are you referring to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands? Because those aren't different speeds, but rather frequencies on which they operate. They would be the same speed.
Additionally, the router make and model number would be helpful in understanding what your setup is.
Let's get back to your problem with the inability to watch content. You say "it basically timesout without saying so." How about providing a better description of what's happening? What you have written is very vague. Do you mean "I select a channel to play, the screen goes black, and after approximately 45 seconds, it returns to the home screen"? Or something along that line? If so, provide that kind of description of the problem.
With a better description of the issue, just the facts but all the facts, if you will, we may be able to get a clearer picture of what's happening, and offer suggestions.
