Re: Not Connecting to the internet.

I used a youtube video to reset my roku. The video explains and shows how to get into a separate menu by pushing home button, then forward, then play, then rewind, then play, then forward again.  A menu pops up and the video explained how to make adjustments to the roku. This did help me with one of my roku deviced.

Re: Not Connecting to the internet.

I don't think you have the commands right.  I think you need to hit Home 5 times, then FF, then Play, then RWD, then Play, then FF.

Re: Not Connecting to the internet.

I don’t have Xfinity I have spectrum for my services. I think the living room TV is actually working better now but the one in my bedroom which is the little device is not close enough to the router for me to connected by ethernet and that one is the one that is cutting in and out of connection all the time I can’t even watch a TV show fully through on any app what I would really like to do is get my money back for the stupid thing this is the worst purchase I’ve ever made everybody said get a Roku it’s so easy there so user-friendly it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought I hate this thing I want to flush it down a toilet

Re: Not Connecting to the internet.

@MinnieMouse38

What is the model number of the problem Roku device? (Settings..System..About [press OK])

Normally changing the wireless channel (try ch. 1, 6, or 11) from within the router and lowering the Bandwidth/Channel Width to 20mhz will help most 2.4ghz connection issues.  If your device is dual band, try using the 2.4ghz connection rather than the 5ghz. (if applicable)

Another option is to try a wireless extender that you can place in the same room (or at least closer) to the problem device.  20 feet is not that far, but you could be experiencing some interference from neighboring networks or other devices in your home.  Again, that is where using an alternate wireless channel may be helpful.

Using your Roku remote, go to the Home Screen of your Roku.  Press Home 5 times, then Up, Down, Up, Down, Up.  You should be presented a Wireless Screen that tells you your signal strength and noise detected as well as some other values.  Feel free to post the values next to the colored bars as well as the first line that includes Channel and ends with SNR. (or post a screenshot).  With this screen present you can also move the Roku device around a little bit and see if these values improve or change.  Then go back to the router and move that around a little bit and see if the values change.  I would also make the settings changes regarding wireless channel and see if values change.

Normally, as long as the Strength is around 20 and green, your Roku device is picking up a decent enough signal to stream.  The other numbers on the screen will indicate if there is some interference being detected.

Feel free to post back with an update.  Include your router model number as well as the Roku model number and the results from above including any changes to the settings you make (better, worse, etc).

Re: Not Connecting to the internet.

My old device was too old and just finally kicked the bucket which is why I bought the Roku because we had like the one it was built into the TV in our living room for so long that my roommate and I both thought why not get a Roku it’s easier to use than the fire stick now I’m thinking that’s the worst decision I’ve ever made because this thing never connects I’ll be watching a show and it’ll just cut out and tell me no Internet
