I've been reading about the issues with 5g wireless channels and have tried 36, 40, 44, 48 153, 157, and 161. My older Roku streaming stick sees each of these channels and I can see in the about connection screen that the channel is updating. The brand new 4k Premier, however, continues to fail to see the 5g network. Has anyone been able to connect this to a 5g wireless network? Is this even 5g capable? Do I need to change the frequency or even the channel width?

I should have done my research before buying it. Why a streaming device would be made without access to 5GHz WiFi, astounds me. 5 GHz has greater speed and bandwidth than 2.4 GHz.
Bought a roku tv has same issue! Should of bought something else.
Not every Roku device supports 5 GHz WiFi. I don't know which TV you have, but that's most likely the issue.
With lack of any technical support from ROKU, I am taking it back to Walmart and purchasing an Apple TV. I have used ROKU for over 5 years. If they won't step forward and help people with this issue, I will no longer support their products. I do not have the background to troubleshoot something the device should be handling. I am disappointed in ROKU.
I had problem where roku ultra wouldnt see my 5g connection either. After a lot of research on internet.. found I had router change from "automatic" channel selection on both 2.4 and 5Ghz. Once I set 2.4G to channel 6 and 5G to channel 48 it works great.
Thanks for your post jpgators1. After searching for a solution to the same problem you are having, I am completely frustrated by a lack of real solutions on the "support" pages. I see a lot of explanations. But, I don't see any solutions. My Roku Premiere worked for almost 1 year. Now, it cannot find a wireless connection with any reliability. Nothing has changed on my network. The only thing that has changed is the performance of the Roku Premiere. What gives, Roku??
