Issue Report Tracker ID Presented when attempting to set up my Roku Device.

Hi, 

I'm now on my 4th replacement device for my Roku Premier. The most recent replacement arrived today and attempted to connect to my wireless router. 

Initially, it connected to my wireless, updated, restarted, and then wouldn't connect to my wi-fi post updates.

It gave me an issue ID to report, but cannot locate where to input this information anywhere on the support site.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Settings/Network/Setup connection>>Wireless

I think youre talking about an error code.

You could post that here. I hope its not about HDCP.

Doesn't appear to be an HDCP issue. 

 

pop up states:

"Issue report tracker

Please use issue ID 35-242-743 to report the current issue."

It may actually be part of a scam.

I think you should do a Factory reset.

Settings/System/Advanced system settings>>Factory reset

Do it without any MicroSD memory in.

Where are you getting these Roku's from?

If you cant accesss the Home screen find the reset button most likely a pin hole

with a button in it. Hold it down with a paper clip a good 30 seconds.

Yeah, the scam thing definitely crossed my mind - I couldn't locate any similar issues in forums or the support page.

 

It's a fresh Roku Premier that I received in exchange for a faulty device from Roku (my 4th in less than a year). I have an older Roku 2 that has had zero problems over the last 4 years. I've tried changing the channel on my router to no avail, and the last 3 replacement devices I've received have all had connectivity issues.

 

I'll try the hard reset when I get home. Thanks.

@knasty662  Thanks for reaching out here. 

If you are still running into an issue getting connected, please provide a few more details: 

- Do you see any specific error code appear on screen when you say you can't get connected? 

- What specific make and model of wireless router are you using? 

- Have you tried adjusting the wireless broadcast channel on the router to see if this allows you to get connected? 

- Does your network password include any special characters? If so, does removing these allow you to get connected?
