Frequent ARP's from Roku TV

Jump to solution

My TCL Roku TV (wired connection) appears to be sending ARP's for the network gateway IP at a rate of approx. 1 per sec. Surely this is not the expected behavior?  Anything that can be done to mitigate this?

Roku doesn’t make TVs. Your TV was made by TCL. You can ask them but what you are seeing is entirely normal. It’s just a smart tv. Nothing to worry about

Re: Frequent ARP's from Roku TV

Thanks much for the quick reply. While I understand that the TV is made by TCL, I had assumed that integrated Roku components or technology was responsible for the networking aspect. Perhaps that was a bad assumption on my part. This level of ARP frequency seems pretty excessive from a networking perspective, which is what precipitated the question, so it's good to understand it's considered normal for smart TV's.

Thanks again for the info. Very helpful.
