Connection status check drops connection

I have a 3800X that shows "excellent" status.  A connection test consistently fails with a 014.40 error, requiring the connection to be setup again.  Other than some pronounced sluggishness of response to commands, the device seems to be functioning ok with the Spectrum and YouTube apps that I use.
