I realize I should know this answer, but I don't. Take pity. I have a Roku device, a subscription to Netflix, and to a subscription to Amazon Prime. I need internet service for email, browsing, etc. Do I need Comcast and Xfinity? If all I need is an internet service provider to use my two subscriptions thru Roku, there must be someone cheaper (and nicer) than Comcast. Thanks.

Yes, you do need an ISP for your Roku devices to work. Checkout https://broadbandnow.com/ to see what ISPs are available in your area. Fortunately, for me I can choose between Xfinity and Verizon at my address. I have been a happy Verizon Fios customer for over 6 years.

Thanks, OoD, I appreciate the reply.  I checked the link you provided and no Verizon on the horizon.  Comcast is the lowest priced and I was surprised to find that out.
