If you are using an ad and malware blocking dns on your home router, Roku app for ios locks up if you navigate away and back, lock screen and back, etc.

It works fine on android, and it works fine if you don’t use a malware blocking dns.

We’re specifically using AdGuard (94.140.14.14, 94.140.15.15), and the combination of AdGuard and the ios Roku app locks up the ios Roku app.

I have been posting on the tech forums since October 2024, and have just gotten the run around.

Can you help and fix it?

Ruku clearly does not care about there customer base, just another multi million dollar company selling a service and then fails to deliver, people complain but keep buying there product, I have had this app freezing issue for a while now and the solution is not buying more from them, its clear roku app designers are the issue because third party apps for roku work just fine with no issue the problem is who wants to pay $8.00 a week for a remote app.

Its really simple Roku use to be the only game in town now there are many many options, yesterday we had a total of about 80 TV's all using Roku, today we have 60, in 30 days we will will have none. we will cancel all subscriptions through Roku and move on

Its really easy to get there attention stop buying there products eventually (it will take time) they will figure out they have a lessening problem.

It’s all about numbers. There aren’t enough affected users for them to fix it.

Do you know of a 3rd party app that includes private listening? The only thing I use the app for is to listen to tv when I get up (too) early to workout so I don’t wake up my family, so the private listening feature is key  

The app does work fine if I turn off my malware and adware blocking dns, but I’d rather deal with the app freezing than leave my home network less protected.
