Just had it happen to mine, Roku Ultra 4802X SW Version 14.0.4 Build 12221. tried reset and also disconnecting power for 2 mins both did nothing.
Solution that worked for me, Remove "All things Food" Item from Home Screen.
Settings -> Home Screen -> <Item> -> Hide
The cursor now works properly once again and I'm able to navigate and highlight all the menu items once again.
I did NOT install any Food item to display on my Home Screen, it just appeared, likely a software push from Roku that was not thoroughly tested before being deployed to users!
Settings > Home Screen > All Things Food > Hide.
Oh my gosh, that really DID fix this issue.
Thanks!
This worked.

I'm having the same problem as everyone else. My TCL tv just started having this problem in the last hour.
It's ridiculous that I have to reboot the Roku software so often. My TV is only 2 years old.
And the reboot does not fix this home page problem. They ought to generate a fix ASAP!
Thanks for the workaround. I'll give it a try.

This is probably the issue. Things like this are pushed out independent of the OS builds, so it's something Roku can immediately pull back. I happened to turn that off before I tested my 3941, so that would explain why mine is working fine. I'll go downstairs and try my 4800 now.
You win the HERO award. I tried your change, and it worked. I wish Roku was better about the software that we are all stuck with....

Remove/hide the 'All Things Food' link on the home page to restore app selection. The crowdstrike fiasco developer must have found a new dev gig at Roku!
i just tried my roku again and its working without doing anything. 🤷
