Looks like the bug from June is back...
The bug is back or was never fixed from back in June - see "closed" issue - Re: Cannot toggle through apps on my Home Page
Now my Stream bar is failing the exact same way. Looks like the latest update has a bug that is effectively bricking our home devices.
This is 100% inappropriate. The made a big push for a HD patch for Xmas that has made out devices unusable. Need immediate patch.
Engineering needs to be in this now as you will lose loyal customers quickly.
If I use the entertainment tab to see previously viewed programs, and go to one of those, I can actually get back to the app thru that program. So for instance I can back up on a show that was on Hulu, all the Hulu content is present. But I still cannot use the home screen app selector. Very strange behavior.
Same issue. I have to use voice to open apps.
Just had it happen to mine, Roku Ultra 4802X SW Version 14.0.4 Build 12221. tried reset and also disconnecting power for 2 mins both did nothing.
Solution that worked for me, Remove "All things Food" Item from Home Screen.
Settings -> Home Screen -> <Item> -> Hide
The cursor now works properly once again and I'm able to navigate and highlight all the menu items once again.
I did NOT install any Food item to display on my Home Screen, it just appeared, likely a software push from Roku that was not thoroughly tested before being deployed to users!
Thank you so much this is immediately fixed mine as well
I have two TCL Roku TV's and both are doing as you describe. I went to Guest Mode, then after a few minutes exited Guest Mode. Restarted TV and it worked for a few minutes. Now I am dead in the water with both TV's. Frustrating!
This answer is the way..same problem and hiding the food bull**bleep** fixed it.
This doesn't work for me, my software and everything is up to date. I cannot delete apps because I cannot choose any apps. I can go up and down on the far left and choose things like setting and home but if I try to go to the right it just goes to the ad on the far right. I have rebooted it several times with no luck.
I had to factory reset my Roku to make it work and re-activate it and sign all my apps back in. That the only thing that sure-fire worked it seems
