roku streaming stick help

hello so i got a roku streaming stick.. but when i plug it in.. it connects and updates software 100% and it restarts but it goes to a purple screen and the words ROKU written across it and no matter what i press on remove nothing happens.. then after 5 mins it asks me what language i want and to connect do the update all over again... any ideas why? it keeps doing it over and over

Try resetting it, with it powered  on, press and hold the reset button on the stick itself for over 30 seconds no matter what is displayed on screen.

held it for about a minute and went thru the update software stuff again but still doing the same thing Smiley Sad goes to screen with letters ROKU across it once hits 100% .. then turns purple then goes back to ROKU  again only for it to go back to asking what language i want and go thru the whole process again lol

Sounds like it went belly up, sorry. Good deals on roku now.

How are you powering the stick? Plugged into a wall outlet or using tv usb port?

Thanks for the posts.

We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.

I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you can finish updating your Roku device and set it up. Then once your device has been setup, try switching back to your home wireless network.
