for some reason I was unable to link my roku 3 to my online roku account. when i signed on it would only show the newer roku tv i have and would not even register that i also had a roku 3. i tried to do a factory reset so that i could then link to my account. i followed the steps and connected to my wifi. once it got to point where i needed a code the system started glitching. it is saying Activation Issue and under that says "there was a problem activating. please get a new code to try again". when i hit get a new code it loops back over and over again to the same window. if i hit back it loops to the same thing. my only options are restarting (which takes me back to the same loop again) or doing a factory reset which starts me over. as soon as i get to the same point in the setup the loop happens again and i cannot get past this point to finish the set up and use the roku. it always worked fine before i did the factory reset.
I ran into the same thing. There was a problem at Roku's end with the activation system for an hour or so last evening (15 April, 2021).
