Why does my Roku reset back to the welcome screen everytime it loses power

I set up my Roku express with no problems until gets it unplugged or the tv changes channels or turns off when you turn it back on it resets back to the welcome screen how do I fix this?

It shouldn't do that, but if you're using the TV's USB port and not the supplied power adapter try using the supplied power adapter.

I do have it plugged up to the power adapter.
