We have no problems using our "purple" Roku stick on our Living Room TV. But when we try it on our bedroom TV, which is older but does have a HDMI port, it never gets past the initial purple Roku screen. It just sits there displaying the Roku logo and playing it's little tune. Any ideas? Thanks!!

You say it's older. Many of the 1st generation HDTVs only supported 1080i or 540i (SD) via the digital (HDMI) input. Your Stick (and all other current versions of Roku players) only support 1080p or 720p via HDMI. Can't say for sure, but it's a good chance your set doesn't support 1080p.

Roku Stick (3600), Ultra (4640), Ultra (4670), Ultra (4800), Premiere (3920), Insignia 720p Roku TV, Sharp 4K Roku TV, Nvidia Shield, Windows 10 Pro x64 running Serviio and Plex on a wired Gigabit network.

Our older TV only supports 720p so we did set up our Roku from our other TV for just 720p. We get the initial screen but it never goes any further. I'm sure it does have something to do with this as well but had to check. Thanks.
