Roku express set up

I am trying to set up a new roku but when I try it in any tv other than the one that sits right next to my router, I keep getting sent round in circles. I get to the point where it connects to the internet (I have a mesh system so there is plenty of internet capability all round the house) then it sets up my screen, then I am asked to activate the account and that’s where I get the problem. Once it goes to the next screen and starts to down load the channels it gets about 10 channels fine then goes black, roku bounces round on my screen and then I am asked again to activate my account. Over and over and over again... I can see the roku on my app so it seems to have activated so I don’t understand why it won’t get past this point. I tried it on my main tv and it was fine so it obvycan manage when it wants to! I have reset the roku twice now to try and start again but it is really doing my head in!

we have one that we have been using for ages with no problems and got this for the kids tv in the den so they can watch Disney + but it is really seeming like I’d have been better off with a fire stick.......

Are you by any chance powering it from the USB port on the TV?  (Those often don't supply enough power.)

In addition to the power supply suggestion from @Strega:

Once it is set up, linked to your Roku account, and operating on the one TV, everything should be fully downloaded and updated.  At that point you should be able to move it to another TV without having to set it up again.

Some wifi items to check:

Your Roku Express (unless it is the relatively new Express 4K) can only connect to wifi in the 2.4 GHz band and can't see the 5 GHz band at all. 

In the 2.4 GHz band all Rokus including Express models only support wifi channels in the 1-11 range that are used in North America.  Be sure your mesh system is not set use channels 12-13 that are used elsewhere, or in an "auto" mode that might shift you into channels 12 or 13.

If you do have an Express 4K, it CAN use the 5 GHz band in addition to 2.4 GHz, but only channels 36-48 and 149-165.  The 5 GHz channels in ranges 50-64 and 100-144 are shared with other uses such as military, radar, and weather. These channels are termed DFS (dynamic frequency selection) channels and routers are supposed to automatically switch to a different channel if they detect one of these channels is in use in your area. Roku and many other home use devices don't support these DFS channels at all and many home routers don't even include them.  Again, if your mesh system DOES support DFS channels be sure any "auto" mode can't shift you into these DFS channels.
