Roku.com website in french / fr-fr

So before I begin, my devices are fine, in US English and everybody's happy on the device side.  This is about the website.

Once I log in, no matter what I do, the site INSISTS that I'm to read the site in French.  I can set it back to US English at the bottom of the page, but as soon as I go to a different section of the website, such as the Channel Store, it flips right back to fr-fr.

I think this is affecting the channels I can install. for instance I have a subscription to Acorn TV in the US, but it's not available in my region. Also the search for channels feature is missing for some reason (possibly not related)

I've looked through my profile, but nowhere does it allow me to select my language. I've nothing against the French, they brought us fine wine and baguettes, but..

Beyond frustrated,

I'm Not French.

Re: Roku.com website in french / fr-fr

Yup, another year, and here I am, needing to use Roku's rubbish website to manage my devices, and still in french.

Thanks for all the help.

Sheesh, the devices: lovely. The website: garbage.

I'M NOT FRENCH.

Maybe replying to my own **bleep** post will get someone to look at this.

Canada. Roku.com thinks I'm France French, not Quebequois French.  I could understand if it was Canadian French (if not accept it). I don't use a VPN.

Re: Roku.com website in french / fr-fr

Are you (or your IP Address) currently located in Quebec or did you create your Roku account in Quebec (or France)?

Try https://www.iplocation.net/  to check the geolocation of your IP address.

If so, that would account for the behavior.

If you created your account in Quebec (or France), you may need to create a new account.

Otherwise, you can contact Roku CS:   https://support.roku.com/contactus

Re: Roku.com website in french / fr-fr

IP is and was (as far as I'm aware) in Canada.  It's possible that the IP was tagged to a Quebec geo. IP geo is pretty non-specific.

Feature request/obvious thing they should have already: They need to let you select a language preference. I don't care where they think I am, so long as I can read the site with better than grade 1 language skills. What if I was Korean living in USA, am I doomed to read the site in English?

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll make a new account.

Re: Roku.com website in french / fr-fr

Roku's website often thinks I'm in Great Britain.  It will happen whenever I search for something and click on the link without noticing there's a "gb-en" in the link.  I just remove all cookies from my browser with "roku" anywhere in the domain.

I've been waiting 10+ years for Roku to get a competent web team.  It just ain't gonna happen.
