I just received 2 Roku Utlras. One set up great, but the other one is not setting up. It keeps going back to the Let's get started page. I click English, click wireless (says excellent connection), it goes through the software update, it restarts, then it goes to a purple screen with nothing on it for a while, then it restarts again and goes to Let's get started screen again. Has this happened to anyone else? I unplugged it and plugged it back in but not sure what else I can do.
Roku Express stuck in a set-up loop.
1. Enter Activation Code online.
2. Roku Express starts to go through Channel update but then crashes.
3. It then restarts with a new activation code on screen.
It has been rebooted numerous times, used different Wifi connections, but won't set-up.
All help greatly appreciated.
Have had to re-boot. Again. And now stuck in this set-up loop.
Thanks for the post.
We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.
I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you can update and finish setting up your device. Then once you have setup your device, switch back to your home wireless network.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
Thanks Danny. But as per my post, I have been through these steps and they don't work.
Thanks for the information.
Please send me a PM with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number on the Roku device along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
How do I send a PM?
The summary of the issues are in my post.
I had the exact problem you describe.
Plugging it in to a USB power adapter, not the TV, solved it.
Thanks. I am using a USB adaptor too.
Ok sorry that didn't help - I have just one last thing to suggest then. Can you check that your USB adaptor outputs more than 1A. Try a 1.5A or 2A USB adaptor perhaps?
I noticed that plugged into the TV the blue light on the ROKU flickered (I assumed it was meant to) but it is steady with the USB plug.
Fingers crossed for you.
