Thanks for the post.
We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.
I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot to update and setup your device. Then once your device is setup, switch back to your home wireless network.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
I just bought a brand new Roku and am stuck in this endless software update loop. There is something wrong with the product when this happens right out of the box. This is my third Roku. The first two were simple and reliable. I'm not tech-savvy and don't think that should be a requirement to set up a roku.

Thanks for the post.
Have you tried the troubleshooting step that I posted in my previous post?
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,

I had the same thing. Turned out it was a power supply problem. Plug it in to a USB plug min output 1.5A.
The supply from my TV gave me a blue light on the Roku but it was stuck in a reboot loop. I tried the restarting the Roku and wifi as suggested above without success. Plugging it in to a mains adaptor fixed the problem.
This same thing is happening to me. I tried to connect to a personal hot spot to get it to update, but that didn't work either. It is just a cycle of "lets get started", choose your network, update, then again and again... I don't know how to fix this. I also tried plugin the USB into both the TV and the port they give, but that didn't change anything.
PLEASE HELP!
i am slightly tech savvy. this is garbage software and hardware. on my 3 express. reboots at startup, activation not working and loops, wtf do i need this aggravation for. oh yeah the family.

I have the same issue tried rebooting the modem, changed network ID, hard reset, this is a nightmare. Even tried Hotspot God damm, this software is broken, fire everyone involved in this stupid update. I need this resolved yesterday.
Thanks for the post.
How are you powering the Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet with the provided cable and adapter? We would highly recommend the latter.
Please send me a PM with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number/device ID on the Roku device along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
