Roku setup

trying to set up my roku 3  power is on roku comes up on tv screen  says not connected  but remote will not scroll down the menu so i can activate it...

I'm having the same issue with a Roku 3 that a neighbor gave me.  How do I get it added to my existing account and get it to work?

Fire it up and go to the menu system. Settings > System > Factory reset

Or...

With power applied, press/hold the reset button/pinhole (depending on model) for a continuous 30 seconds.
