No signal screen at startup.

I just installed a new streaming stick 4K. When I turn on the tv I get the No Signal screen. I am using the correct HDMI port. When I push the home button on my new remote I get the ROKU screen and everything works fine. Why the no signal screen?

Re: No signal screen at startup.

What you are seeing is completely normal. Your Roku is sleeping so to wake it up you press the home button. You can try disabling the bandwidth saver found under network settings. But mine does the same thing. It says no input cause your Roku is asleep till you press the home button. You can also press the home button before turning on your tv

When the Roku device is inactive for a bit of time, it will enter a Sleep Mode.  Pressing Home button on your Remote will wake the device.

No reason to Disable Bandwidth Saver unless you want continuous streaming longer than 4hrs.  Bandwidth Saver will automatically stop an unattended Roku device from using data after 4hrs or if you forgot to press the Home button on the Roku remote when you finished your streaming session.

Pressing Home when finished streaming will stop active streaming and data usage.

If you want your Roku and your TV to come on at the same time, then try enabling 1-touch Play.

(Settings/System/Control other devices/1-touch Play)

When 1-touch play is enabled, pressing any button on the Roku Remote (excluding Power and Volume) should wake up Roku and turn your TV on.  You may have to additionally enable HDMI CEC on your TV for this feature to work.

Re: No signal screen at startup.

@EJC-

Starting with Roku operating system version 10.5, Roku added a "Power" item in the "Settings > System" menu for some of the newer Roku devices. The new "Auto power savings" item there will put your Roku device into a low power standby condition after a period of inactivity, such as when your TV has been turned off for a while.

As you have discovered, pressing a Roku control key (like the Home button) on your Roku remote (not Power, Volume, or Mute buttons if your remote has them, as they act on the TV, not the Roku) should bring the Roku out of standby and back to full operation. Pulling the power for a few seconds to restart the Roku will restore full operation as well.

If you disable "Settings > System > Power > Auto power savings" it should prevent your Roku from going into standby in the first place. The power savings are not that great and for the hassle it causes, personally I don't think it's worth having this feature activated.
