I have premier plus and the upgrade to version 9 froze the device.

I have premier plus and the upgrade to version 9 froze the device. it does not recognize the remote device.

Essentially it is frozen screen telling me it is version 9 and click to continue, except the TV will not recognize the remote, so I can not move past this screen.

If your Roku device is frozen, have you tried performing a factory reset on the Roku device to see if you can get it back up and running? For more information about how to perform a factory reset, visit our Support page here: How do I factory reset my Roku® streaming device?

After you factory reset your Roku device, please keep us posted if you are still experiencing an issue. In addition, can you provide us with a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing.

I have checked the entire device for any holes for a reset, and none exist.  I've unplugged it let it come back up and still it goes to the same page saying it has been upgraded to version 9, and click to continue.

The remote does not register on the screen, so it is useless.  I've tried the on-off button to the right of the remote half way down.  No luck.

What's the model number of your Roku?  It should be written on it somewhere.
