How do I change the e-mail account on the Roku Stick?

Hi,

I have my Roku account and it is setup correctly. However, my Roku Streaming stick is assigned to someone else's email.  How do I change the email account on the Roku Streaming stick.

 

For example, when I look at my Roku account on the web site, the email is myemail at aaa.com.

But when I look at the email on my tv via the Roku stick, it says the email is someone else at yyy.com. 

 

My question is how do I change the email address on the Roku Stick / TV to be myemail at aaa.com?

Hey @densolis

Thanks for the post.

To change the Roku account linked to your Roku stick, you'll be needing to factory reset it to sign the email out. Once done, proceed by linking it to your own email. Here are the instructions you can follow:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll up or down and select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Advanced system settings.
  5. Select Factory reset.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

@densolis- It sounds like you received a Roku unit that had been set up and linked to the user's account but then returned to the store.

The procedure outlined by Kariza will return your Roku to a new-in-the-box-condition and allow you to set it up from scratch.  This will enable you to link it to your account during the setup process.
