How connect Hisense 40 H4G tv to technics stereo receiver

Jump to solution

Good day. Attempting to run audio thru my stereo, w/o success. Have digital audio out cable attached, hooked to digital/optical TV port on receiver. Have turned off tv speakers, tried switching audio from 'auto' to 'stereo'; nothing's working. 3 notes: previous tv (Sony Bravia) had 2 audio out port options i.e. also had coaxial cable, which I used. 2nd, my blu ray player only has the coaxial audio out port available. 3rd, my receiver predates HDMI cables.

Any help would be appreciated. While I greatly enjoy all of the app options the roku tv provides, the audio itself is atrocious. (Initially thought it was just an issue with the YouTube app, but same probs arise while watching movies and music/singing plays: heavy distortion and reverberation.) Tried a few suggestions found online, but ideally wish to listen via my stereo anyways.

If all else fails, I guess I'll have to return to my Bravia - which will suck, in terms of loss of roku/apps, etc. Thanx in advance... Paul

I'm guessing you need to go into the Technics setup to change the TV input from coax to optical, from your description. Just a guess, since you don't specify what receiver you have, except for brand.
