Connection help. Roku does not come up on my screen after connecting hdmi/power cables. Only fuzzy

I have attached the hdmi cable and the power cable as instructed.  I have only 1 hdmi port.  I do not get the Roku label on my screen to allow me to proceed with set up.  Just fuzzy.  I can see the fuzzy Roku word moving across my screen but ROKU does not come up for set up. I have Roku express.  Suggestions?

What's the make and model number of your TV so someone can look up its capabilities?  Do you have another TV you can try it on?
