I’ve tried doing the factory reset but nothing happens on the TV when I click ‘add a device’ in my account settings. What else do you suggest?

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing?
After your factory reset (making sure to press and hold down the reset button for at least 30 seconds regardless what is happening on the screen), are you not presented with either an activation link, or with a prompt requesting your email address to be sent an activation link?

We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.
I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you can retrieve an activation code and finish setting up your Roku device. Then once your device has been setup, try switching back to your home wireless network.
