I was changing to a new cable box and it was defective. I tried to reinstall the older box and now I keep getting the message on my TV screen that it can’t find the cable signal. I reconnected everything like before. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Talk to your cable company. I'm guessing they reconfigured your account to connect to your new box (each device has a unique code called a MAC number to which your signals are routed), so it can no longer connect to your old one.
