Blank screen mid set up of Roku express

It's a brand new Roku express for our bedroom. Allowed set up as far as connected to wifi with no issues, then screen went blank, it is shows on the app as a device but says check if device is plugged in and on the network. I have tried to factory reset it and it just returns to the blank screen after the roku start up screen. The device is definitely plugged in (has blue light) but cant get any further to check if its connected to network.

Any help is appreciated, TIA
