Audio Issue

My setup is somewhat unique. Before ordering the Roku I was told that it would work. I got an HDMI switch to switch the monitor back and forth between the Roku and my desktop computer. It worked fine except I have no sound. My surround sound is connected to my computer and I thought the auto detect on the Roku audio would use it but none of the audio settings work. I don't want to return the Roku but it appears that I have no choice. 

Appreciate any help.

There's no way the Roku could detect that you have a PC connected to a switch.  Connecting a Roku to a monitor is always problematic.  You need something to handle the audio like an AV receiver or HDMI audio extractor.  I'm not familiar with the Roku soundbar or streambar (and I have no idea what the difference is), but one of those may be a solution.
