Activate player - tv will not give me a number to put in activation section on phone

The first suggestion would be to do a hard reset and start over. And I'm assuming you're connected to the Internet with the Roku. Initial setup requires an Internet connection. It can be used without a connection once set up, but you have to have it connected to accomplish that.
