When I checked for updates is said it was adding Roku browser after it finished checking for updates I looked in the home screen and it wasn't there. is this a search engine/web browser?

It isn't a user-accessible web browser, at least for now. It may be something for channels to use to reduce their own code usage.

that is what I figured. I hope that Roku adds a web browser at some point in the future.
