now TV roku stick (Roku Devices)

Got a now TV roku stick today because I heard you can load Kodi on it. All the guides say I have to download Kodi through the play store but I can't see any to open or download Google play store. The software version on the stick is 11.0.3 thanks

The play store is normally associated with Android OS devices.  Roku OS is something different.

And now TV devices aren't exactly Rokus either.  They may run a modified Roku OS, but they have their own app store and appear to have a more limited selection than Roku:
