Per Roku rules, apps must soon follow that setting for auto-play previews and similar. It doesn't affect next-episode garbage. I forget when that rule become mandatory.
Just to repeat: Try Settings/Accessibility/Auto-play video and set it to OFF.
This is absolutely terrible. I chose Roku over alternatives for its minimally-invasive interface. Any added pauses or clicks will kill this advantage. This will be the death of our extended family and friends' Roku usage.
BOO, HISS to more annoying RokuOS ads anywhere!
Users DO NOT want to see more RokuOS ads, if you must please allow us to disable such ads with a simple software toggle.
If I get ads on your hardware, where I'm not using your streaming service at all, I will obliterate every roku device I own and badmouth you for the rest of my life.
Pay for streaming services with no ads and *still* get ads from the godd*m TV!?? Come on Roku.
Which of your business school flunkies thought this was a good idea? How did an idea this terrible make it though any committee? Your developers had to tell you this was a dumb thing to do? What clown college is running the show in your C-suite?
It makes for an absolutely terrible user experience.
Can't you be happy with the vast command of the smart TV & streaming stick market that you already have? You gotta try to squeeze more ad dollars?
Greedy b*stards.
