Re: Turn off display option not available after update

And now with the latest Roku update it's gone again. It was a nice two months. Sigh.

TCL 65" Class 4-Series 4K UHD HDR Smart Roku TV – 65S455

To turn off the screen using your remote, press Star star button on Roku remote and then scroll and ...

The turn off display option is not there for me.  Anyone else have this missing even after enabling Fast TV Start?  Thoughts?

I'm trying to use my TV for music but not have the screen on all day.

Re: Turn off display option not available after update

I believe I should've corrected my update and clarified the steps...

- Download your choice of music streaming app to the TV.
- Download the Roku remote app to your mobile.
- Play a song on the TV.
- Open the Roku remote app.
- Look for the Remote icon at the bottom of the screen and tap it.
- While on the Remote page, tap the Mic icon at the top of the screen.
- (And while your music is playing... ) Say "Turn off display" into your mobile.

Things like this can be frustrating (with all the different apps and setting to 'vet' or adjust to have everything work symbiotically). Let us know what happens.

Regards!

Update: July 5th, 2023
The option to turn off display while using Spotify no longer works. If anyone has an updated solution... I'm sure a few people would be grateful. I'd be one of them. ; )

@makai_02

I just tested your suggestion on the Spotify app and it worked.

It's interesting that the "picture off" menu option is only available on some channels, but regardless of that, the phone app voice command works in both scenarios.
