Screen saver goes back to the main home screen after last update

Jump to solution

Since the last Roku update the screen saver no longer works. It is set to start after 10 minutes of inactivity. It does come on, the after about 10 seconds it goes back to the main home screen. It cycles like that continuously.

I have rebooted the Roku numerous times. Even unplugged it overnight,... a good 8 hours. Still does the same thing. Changed to a different screen saver. Same result.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I fixed mine. Took it outside and smashed it with a hammer, and went back to using my cable company.

Hi Riamie,
Thanks for your reply.

After the last update on 10/10/2024 my Roku 2 and Roku 3 screensaver doesn't work- I chose the free Roku digital clock theme and after a couple of minutes Roku played again, then waited 1 minute (I set this time) and again after a couple of minutes Roku played again.
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you

Screen savers not working

Jump to solution

I have three Roku TVs and all three of them I bought this year so they’re new and suddenly the screensavers do not work on any of them. I tried restarting the TVs and I tried different screensaver apps to see if it was just that one of the apps wasn’t working, but it’s the TVs. It constantly Stays on the screen that I pause it on or on the home screen, and the screensaver never turns on and it was always working before

Hi @Carol536,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We would be glad to assist you with your issue with the screensaver on your Roku TVs that does not display on the screen.

To further look closely into the issue we would like to know the following:

  • When did you start to experience the issue?
  • Did you receive the recent software update before you experienced the issue? If so, what is the software version of your Roku TV?

In the meantime, we suggest you to follow this steps to check if your screensaver is disabled or not.

  1. Press the Home button of your Roku remote
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Theme
  4. Select Screensaver wait time
  5. Choose the amount of time to wait, or choose to disable the screensaver
  6. Press OK on your Roku remote to save

For reference, you can visit our Roku support article: How to change the screensaver on your Roku® streaming device

We hope you find this information helpful. Please keep us posted.

Riamie
