There have been a few Ultra models. What's the model number from Settings->System->About? The light goes off when the screensaver activates. If your Ultra has the "power saving" option under Settings->Power it should also go off when it goes into power saving mode. If not, it will only go off when the screensaver activates. If you've disabled the screensaver it won't go off.
