Looking to replace my Roku 3 and trying to decide between the 4800R and 4802R. Best Buy sells both right now, and I noticed the pre-programmed Hulu button was replaced by Paramount in the new version. I don't subscribe to Paramount and use Hulu all the time for live TV, would it be stupid to get the old one just for the Hulu button?
From what I can see, the only major update is the rechargeable remote, which isn't a big deal to me. Any other differences I'm missing?
The only real difference is the rechargeable remote. Other than that they're the same player. Walmart sells a 4801, which is the 4800 without a USB port. But everything else is the same.
The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro that is included with the Ultra 4802 has one feature that may fit the bill for you.
It has two programmable buttons that you can set to perform any action that can be done via a voice command. You could set one of them to "Load Hulu" and voila, you have a dedicated direct access button.
