I want to use the Apple TV app on a Roku, and when I check the list for compatible devices, all the numbers end in ‘X’.
For example, it says Roku Ultra 4670X is compatible, but the current model on the website is Roku Ultra 4670R.
What is the difference between R and X? Is the current -R model compatible?
R is retail, X is from Roku or online. It's just where it came from; absolutely no difference in the device.

I think X is Amazon and something else is Best Buy....
It means nothing same Model.

I bought both of mine retail , 4670x from bestbuy and the 4670RW from bestbuy also. So the answer given is not correct.
It's changed over the years, but now R or RW is the Roku, the box in came in, the accessories all make up R/RW suffix. X is the Roku itself; all model numbers end in x nowadays.
