Hi
My Stick+ was working fine until yesterday. Would fire up OK and show me a Home screen with upscaling to 2160p on my Sony TV. Powered via USB port on the TV.
Now, it won't go past the jumping Roku logo at 720p and won't show any Home screen. Have replaced remote batteries and done a factory reset on the stick - no change.
Can I assume the stick is dead and needs replacing?
I would first try powering it from the AC adapter instead of the TV USB port.
why would that make any difference?? the Stick has been perfectly fine with USB power until yesterday and nothing has changed in my setup since I put the Roku into action in May.
ETA: I'm not even sure I have the AC adapter now anyway
Hey @fatwelshbuddha
Thanks for the post.
In some cases, the USB power provided by the TV is not sufficient to power the device. Even though your Roku device may appear to be working, running with insufficient power can lead to instability, crashing, and other unpredictable behavior.
Using the included power cord and power adapter, we suggest plugging your Roku into a working power outlet in the wall.
Let us know if there's any difference after.
All the best,
Kariza

as I said in a previous post I no longer have the adapter as it has been working fine from the USB. I'll try it with a USB lead into a different AC adapter and see if that works.
OK - managed to find the AC adapter and power the stick up that way.
No joy - same as when plugged into TV USB - just won't move beyond the bouncing Roku logo and to the Home page so I suspect the stick is defunct.
It's less than a year old - how do I get a warranty replacement?

By the way, when you did the factory reset, did you hold the reset button for at least 30 seconds. Note that less than 30 seconds is not at least 30 seconds. The time it's held is important.

Are you still using the original USB cable with bump in it? That is what the remote communicates with, not the stick itself.
